What does it mean to Restore 4 Good?

Restore 4 Good is our way of promoting sustainable restoration at Priority Restoration and within our industry. It involves adopting practices that minimize environmental impact and focus on restoring instead of replacing, thereby minimizing our impact on the planet. This involves sourcing and using environmentally friendly materials and cleaning products, lowering carbon emissions, reducing waste and conserving our natural resources.

Our Restore 4 Good Initiatives

We are working on reducing our environmental impact across all areas of our business.

Low-Emissions Fleet

Until full electric vehicle adoption is feasible, we’ve started to incorporate lower-emissions, fuel efficient vehicles into our fleet that contribute to our carbon footprint reduction goals. Our phased approached to building a sustainable fleet is projected to replace 80% of our current vehicles with hybrid and plug-in Hybrid vehicles by the end of 2030.

Paperless Work Environment

We’ve committed to reducing paper usage across every aspect of our business by transitioning to digital workflows. This will not only decrease our environmental footprint but also improve our efficiency, reduce costs and enhance data accessibility. Once fully implemented, our paperless initiative will contribute to the conservation of 75 trees per year.

Material Recycling

As a restoration contractor we believe that restoring and reusing existing structures and materials is one of the most effective ways to reduce our environmental impact. That is why we focus on dry in place methods for the recovery of wet materials first. When these methods are not possible, we seek alternative ways to reclaim damaged building materials by partnering with our suppliers and local refit companies to redirect waste from our landfills.

Content Processing Methods

We have invested in industry leading technologies for the restoration of fire, water and mould affected content. By utilizing the Esporta Wash System for soft content cleaning (clothing, linens and sports equipment) and the Fireline Ultrasonic system for hard contents, we can save our clients precious items and divert them from the landfill. By using these systems, we can restore 85% of the content that is typically deemed as non-restorable. Even content that our clients may not want returned can be safely donated to charities so they can be re-loved instead of disposed.

LED Light Replacement

As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the sustainability of our facility we have participated in Efficiency Manitoba’s LED light replacement program and converted 1448 fluorescent bulbs with 25% more energy efficient LED’s. This initiative has contributed to our goal to minimize our energy consumption and reduce our greenhouse gas emissions.

Tree Planting Campaign

By planting a tree for every project we complete, we will fund up to 1500 trees to be planted in Canada per year.

One of the most impactful ways we can give back to the future our planet is by planting trees and helping to rebuild our forests that have been negatively affected by forest fires, climate change and logging. Priority Restoration has partnered with One Tree Planted as part of our campaign “A tree will soar for every home we restore.” By planting a tree for every project we complete, we will fund up to 1500 trees to be planted in Canada per year. We can transform an unfortunate event into a positive experience by not only restoring your home but a piece of our planet as well! A forest begins with a single tree!
